As my husband and I drove through the mountains last spring, my husband was very patient as I constantly asked him to stop, so that I could smell the flowers and take photos of them. Most of these were on the side of the road or in the ditch. These are commonly known as Canadian Thistles! I know they’re prickly and seem like they’re just a weed, but they are truly beautiful with their pinkish-purplish balls of flowerets!
